Porcelain shoulder head with two different faces that are separated by a sculpted black bonnet brim,one face depicting a kindly-featured older woman with sculpted brown hair,deeply-wizened features with pronounced age lines,painted blue eyes,closed mouth with smiling expression; the other face depicting a black haired child with stippled details of forehead bangs,painted features,blue downcast eyes,closed mouth; on muslin stitch-jointed body with porcelain limbs,antique costume with two front-side so doll can be displayed with either face forward. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany,circa 1885,the doll depicts "the ages of women". Value Points: rare model with superb modeling and painting.
