Bisque socket head, blue glass enamel inset eyes with rich spiral threading and darker blue outer rims, dark eyeliner, mauve-blushed eyeshadow, painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with defined space between the shaded lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (Simonne shop label on back torso). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1878, earliest period Jumeau bebe, the doll was presented in the prestige doll shop of Maison Simonne on Passage Delorme. Value Points: gorgeous bebe with spiral-threaded eyes known as "wrap-around", finest bisque and beautiful pale complexion, original body and body finish, beautiful antique silk costume, woven bonnet with lace lining, leather shoes with silk rosettes.
