19" (48 cm.) overall. 8" doll. Hip-up porcelain half-doll depicting an older child with shaded brown hair in soft ringlet curls at the sides and with topknot, heavily-lidded downcast eyes, gentle smile, modeled chemisette with straps falling onto her long porcelain arms which extend below the base, separately-sculpted fingers, attached to wire frame with overskirt as tea cozy. Marks: 104214. Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1910, attributed to Ernst Bohne Sohne, as inspired by the facial expressions and poses of portrait women by the 17th century Dutch painter Vermeer.
