23" (58 cm.) h. x 10"l. x 12"d. The wooden sedan chair with domed roof and gracefully shaped back has shaped windows on three sides, and an opening front door. It is decorated with gesso appliqued scrolls with gilded details of finish, and on three sides has three different hand-painted courtly scenes in the Fragonard manner. The interior is lined with original burgundy brocade silk. Excellent condition. French, circa 1885.
