The Private 50-Year Collection of Hanne Büktas of Vienna, Austria - Half Dolls, Tea Cozies, Pincushion, Bathing Beauties and Other Lady Figures. This extraordinary collection of more than 700 rare French and German pieces spans 1900-1930s and features classic ladies of elegance as well as Art Deco and Art Nouveau themed figures of women. Many are presented as waist-up figures, while others have original pincushion or tea-cozy attachments, and still others form into delightful powder puffs, candy box lids, or bibelot boxes. 5 1/2" (14 cm.) Waist-up porcelain half-doll with highly-dramatic theatrical costume and pose, with orange cap and lavish grey feathers, gold dangling earrings, gold bead harness, bracelets and belt, with orange shawl, with arms posed dramatically and right hand posed to hold a feather. Marks: 687. Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1920, the figure appears to represent Theda Bara, the early silent film star as she appeared in various films and promotions.

10" (25 cm.) overall. 4" to waist. Porcelain waist-up figure of young girl with tousled grey curly hair decorated with a garland of Dresden flowers, with sculpted low-bodice blouse having Dresden corsage, and arms held in front, away from body, with clasped fingers. Attached to original quilted silk pincushion base with silk taffeta overskirt. Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1910, attributed to Dressel, Kister & Co, exceptional detail of finger modeling and variegated flowers; the model was created with four front sew holes (two at bodice, and two at hips) designed to allow an actual bouquet of silk or fresh flowers to be attached as though held in her hands.

4" (10 cm.) Porcelain hip-up child posed with arms held away from body, with curled fingers, sculpted baby cap with scalloped edge having painted floral design with gilt edging and sculpted feathers that are accented by Dresden flowers, and with burgundy streamers and throat bow. Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1910, the rare model was constructed with multi-piece mold which created a rare torso construction and unique bonnet. Few examples are known to exist, one without throat streamers, and this extremely rare example having painted streamers.

Waist-up porcelain lady with sculpted brown hair and painted costume in the 18th century style, posed with ring held in her right hand as she extends the ring finger on her left hand as though to place the ring. Excellent condition. Germany, Goebel, circa 1915, the popular model was made in a variety of styles including another example made of bisque, uncostumed and with mohair wig. Rarity factors of this charming half-dolls include dark brown color of hair and yellow gown with rose pattern.
