The Private 50-Year Collection of Hanne Büktas of Vienna, Austria - Half Dolls, Tea Cozies, Pincushion, Bathing Beauties and Other Lady Figures. This extraordinary collection of more than 700 rare French and German pieces spans 1900-1930s and features classic ladies of elegance as well as Art Deco and Art Nouveau themed figures of women. Many are presented as waist-up figures, while others have original pincushion or tea-cozy attachments, and still others form into delightful powder puffs, candy box lids, or bibelot boxes. 8 1/2" (22 cm.) h. 7 1/2"w. Porcelain half-doll of flapper lady with painted black cloche with green accents has extended arms, holding a mirror in her right hand and a lipstick in her left which she holds up to her lips. The half-doll is wearing a gilt metallic halter which is attached to a flared metallic frame designed to appear as her skirt, and which covers the porcelain vanity bowl. The bowl frame is incised "France" and "Bte SGDG Depose". Excellent condition. For the French market, circa 1920, the charming ladylike scene is enriched by fine detail of casework, and complemented by metallic crest with amethyst jewel.

One-piece porcelain theatrical figure posed resting on his side, with intricate detail of leg and hand posing, sculpted cream coat with ruffled collar, black and white checkered pants, and rich gilt cap, buttons, wrist and leg cuffs, and shoe laces. Waist-up porcelain nude lady in dramatic pose, her head sharply turned sideways and down as she extends her right arm to gaze at her engagement ring, her left arm bent at the elbow and held to her flowered pink hat, with dramatic brown coiffure featuring long flowing curls onto her shoulders. Excellent condition. Bearing blue crown stamp of Aelteste Volkstedter Porzellanfabrik. Germany, circa 1915, the outstanding large half-doll features such details as richly-painted bracelet, brown streamers at the back of hat, separately-sculpted fingers, superb painting of facial features, and rare coiffure.

9 1/2" (24 cm.) Posed on porcelain base is a woman seated in porcelain chair, her arms extended and a porcelain falcon perched on her arm. The lady has flowing brown hair beneath a high purple hennin worn over a long white wimple which wraps around her left arm; her costume comprising a teal tunic with fleur-de-lis designs over an ermine robe, ermine collar, elaborate gold collar. Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1910, from the Medieval Series of the Dressel & Kister Co. The figurine was made in several variations including #27 of this catalog which is a half-doll with separate chair, and without the flowing wimple of this model.

Waist-up porcelain figure of nude woman with right arm gracefully posed away as though balancing, her left arm supporting the double-handled bronze-finish urn she holds on her head, with sculpted white head shawl having beaded-dot accents over grey hair. Marks: (blue bishop's staff stamp). Excellent condition, professional restoration on tip of right baby finger. Dressel, Kister & Co, circa 1910, the figure was inspired by a 19th century costume design book which identified the costume as "French milkmaid" and was created by Dressel in several variations ranging from this nude half-doll to a full figure costumed figurine which appeared in their catalog as model 4230.

Waist-up porcelain lady with sculpted flowing brown hair capped by a tall hennin with flowing streamers at the sides, elaborate beaded gilt collar with Maltese cross, arms modeled bent at the elbows and posed away from body, a falcon perched on her right hand, with original cloth lower torso and upper legs, porcelain legs to above the knees posed as though seated with painted blue stockings and blue two-strap shoes and wearing factory-original silk brocade costume. The doll is seated in her original porcelain chair which separates from the doll. Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1910, from the luxury Medieval Series of Dressel & Kister Co.

5" (13 cm.) h. 7 1/2"l. Posed in dance performance, the gentleman standing behind the woman as they gaze at each other, their arms outstretched with tentatively touching hands. He has black sculpted hair and downcast grey eyes, and she has short brown bobbed hair held by a wide blue hair band accented with gilt, brown eyes with rich outline, and is wearing a beaded gilt halter. The pair are joined at the waist with four sew-holes. Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1920, attributed to Dressel, Kister, the double half-dolls are extremely rare, this pair surely inspired by the "look" of then popular silent film stars Rudolph Valentino and Theda Bara which they closely resemble, including the gilt harness closely associated with Bara.
