Linen Presentation Chemise Dress with Elaborate Trim

5" shoulder width. 14" overall length. Of very crisp linen or linen-like fabric,the presentation dress has very full pouf sleeves achieved by narrow pleats at the shoulders,fitted yoke with lace over red background,box-pleats down the center fron,and a wide skirt border of lace over red fabric,which is repeated at the sleeve bands,sash,and red ruffle. A red ribbon edges the yoke and throat,and there is a grommet-edged hole at the side for the strings of a voice box. Circa 1888.
