German Bisque Glass-Eyed Character, 5636, by Gebruder Heubach

Pink-tinted bisque socket head, large brown glass sleep eyes, painted curly lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, mouth sculpted as though open and laughing with sculpted tongue, two beaded lower teeth, outlined lips, impressed dimples at cheeks, brunette mohair bobbed hair, Sonneberg composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 5636 5 Heubach (sunburst mark) Germany. Comments: Gebruder Heubach, circa 1912. Value Points: especially fine modeling and bisque with wonderfully defined expressive features.
