Very Fine Early German Paper Mache Lady Doll with Superb Early Costume

Paper mache shoulderhead of adult lady with oval face, elongated throat, and modeled bosom, sculpted black hair with well-defined finger curls and tuck comb, feathering details around the face, painted complexion and facial features, painted blue eyes, black upper eyeliner, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with accent line between the shaded lips, slender-shaped early kid body with defined waist, jointing at shoulders, stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent, some very minor craquelure on lower shoulderplate. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: beautiful original complexion and painting, rare and elaborate coiffure, original sturdy body, and fine early costume of silk gown, embroidered apron, undergarments, hand-sewn silk slippers, and lace coiffe.
