Bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, slightly-parted lips, row of tiny porcelain teeth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over Steiner pate, French composition fully-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: A 5 (incised) Le Parisienne (red stamp on head). Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1890. Value Points: all-original presentation by luxury Parisian doll shop, the bebe is resting in a lavish red-paper-covered trunk with maplewood slats and brass trim, which opens to reveal her extensive trousseau comprising two dresses, many undergarments, hankies, fur muff and matching collar, elaborate toiletries and jewelry and miniature wooden handled toy marotte.
