German Cloth Character Hampelchen Doll by Kathe Kruse

13" (33 cm.) All-cloth doll with pressed and oil-painted face and features, brown downcast eyes, black upper eyeliner, single-stroke brows, closed mouth with downcast pouting expression, blonde human hair wig, all-cloth body with bellow jointing of legs, jointing at shoulders, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 3426 (left foot) (also remnants of original pink KK paper label). Comments: Kathe Kruse, circa 1930s. Value Points: fine original painting on the wistful-faced child.
