German Mechanical Tin Toy Monkey Band by Schuco

4 1/2" (11 cm.) Each is tin with mechanism enclosed within torso, having tin mask face with painted features encircled by mohair "fur", the bodies with attached bright felt costumes, and each with large tin feet; three are holding a violin and bow and one is holding a drum with drumsticks. When wound, they pivot about while either drumming or strumming; one key is included. Condition: generally excellent, functions well. Marks: Schuco (key). Comments: Schuco, Germany, circa 1930s. Value Points: the amusing toys are preserved with vibrant original costumes; although three are violinists each has different costume.
