Bisque socket head with rounded facial modeling, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, thickly fringed brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and accented lips, upturned lip corners, brunette mohair wig over Steiner pate, French composition fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Steiner Paris Fre A 9 (head) Le Petit Parisien Bebe Steiner (body). Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1889. Value Points: all-original bebe wearing boutique lace dress with embroidered detail and silk ribbons, undergarments, woven bonnet with lace pleats, blue dangle earrings, leather shoes. The doll was presented by Theriault’s in 2000 from its original Ohio family and since then has remained in the hands of only one collector; shown with the doll in this catalog is a vintage family photograph of their 1890 parlor which includes this doll shown under a glass dome.
