Of a very fine sheer muslin,the gown features a
low rounded neckline with a double row of ruffles
(one ruffle being a fine silk organza),fitted
bodice and waist,extended-length sleeves with
widely-flared wrists with ruffled detail,skirt
with attached over-skirt that is edged with
scalloped-cut ruffle and gathered and hemmed
ruffle that has an elegant sweep at the front and
an elaborate arrangement of cascading ruffles at
the back,with silk rose petal appliques. circa 1870.
