Extensive French Child's Softpaste Wash Set and Stand

18" (46 cm.) h. The cast metal frame in Art Nouveau styling with original cream finish and gold accents is furnished with a six-piece wash set of softpaste in rich creamy background with wonderful transfer scenes in delicate pastel colors of Kate Greenaway-like children in various play activities which include play accessories such as dolls and drums. The set includes the double-handled wash bowl and pitcher,another lidded pitcher,lidded chamber pot,and three lidded jars. The stand has original medallion label of maker Digoin,and each softpaste piece is marked with the Sarreguemines black script word. French,circa 1890,an outstanding set with numerous pieces and wonderful designs,is beautifully-preserved.
