French Parlor Game

Lot Number:
14" x 11" (35 x 28 cm) box. A firm-sided box has lithographed paper decorations and a fantastical engraving on the lid portraying a domino-suited child riding an ostrich-head bicycle, labeled "Le Seigneur Domino". Inside is contained the game board with domino-themed roulette wheel, domino cards with matching tiny bone dominoes, and a series of prizes including a rare hand-painted glass scene of Paris. The game was made by Coqueret of Paris, circa 1860, and is extremely rare. Contents excellent, box worn.
