The pressed bisque socket head bebe has superb definition of sculpted features highlighted by large dark blue eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, long painted lashes with unusual emphasized lashes at outside corner of each eye, brushstroked brows with feathered highlights, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, modelled space between the teeth, heart-shaped upper lip, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, original composition and wooden fully jointed body with straight wrists. The quality of bisque and painting is exemplary. The doll wears her original maroon silk dress with dropped waist and attached balayeuse, pleated skirt, lace collar and cuffs, sateen bonnet with silk flowers, undergarments, maroon earrings, maroon socks, leather shoes with star medallions. The original Jumeau silk banner is stitched to the balayeuse (see photo). Signed "Depose E.1 J." on head and "Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris" on body. Emile Jumeau, circa 1885. 9" (23 cm).
