Outstanding Victorian Velvet Candy Box in the Shape of Cabinet

9" (23 cm.) x 10". The firm-sided cabinet with bronze-green silk/velvet covering and ormolu trim features three oval medallion panels with Italian mountain scenes in soft pastel colors. The cabinet hinges open at the center front to reveal eight drawers with ormolu pulls and tissue lining. There is a key and key hole. Original paper label on the underside indicates original use as candy box for Cadbury treats. Excellent condition. Late 1800s.
