5" (13 cm.) Each of the matched pair depict a young boy and girl in outdoor setting with superbly detailed costumes in the 18th century style, and with intriguing role reversals between the two. In one, a little bonneted girl reprimands a pet dog which the kneeling boy cradles in his arms, and in the other the little boy wears a hat while the girl is bare-headed, a little goat held in her arms which the boy teases with a green treat. Marks: (blue bishop's staff stamp). Excellent condition. Germany, Dressel & Kister, circa 1900, the little girl with bonnet head is the exact model also used by the firm for one of their child half-dolls.
