Petite "Nina Ballerina" in Yellow Tutu with Gilt Metallic Trim, 1949

14" (36 cm.) All hard plastic blonde floss hair with cluster of fine curly bangs, side hair drawn back into an elaborate twist of curls at the crown decorated with tiny silk blue flowers that are repeated at the shoulder and hips. Wearing tutu with yellow satin bodice, gathered tulle skirt edged with gilt metallic rick-rack over two crisply starched net petticoats, yellow panties, black velvet ribbon at throat, and pink ballerina slippers. The costume is marked "Nina Ballerina, Madame Alexander, N.Y. USA, All rights reserved". Excellent condition. Alexander, 1949, beautifully arranged coiffe with flowers, and with original cloverleaf wrist tag "Ballerina".
