18"(46 cm.) All-composition doll with socket head,green sleep eyes,lashes,painted lashes and
brows,slightly-parted lips with row of teeth,dark blonde human waist-length wig with
bangs,five-piece composition body. The doll is wearing her original blue and white checkered
dress with dimity apron trimmed with blue rick-rack,matching undergarments,blue-edged
socks,blue laced shoes. Excellent condition,left middle finger broken. Marks: Effanbee Anne-
Shirley (torso). Effanbee,from their "American Children"series,designed by Dewees Cochran,circa
1937. The doll wears entirely original costume,wig,and has Effanbee gold heart bracelet.

8.5"(22 cm.) All-wooden doll whose torso and head is in the shape of a peanut,with painted
peanut shell details and painted face with outlined monocle; his arms and legs are segmented
wood so he can be nicely posed,and he has a wooden blue top hat on his head that is labeled
"Mr. Peanut". Cameo,1930s from their series of advertising dolls designed by Joseph Kallus.

sided glancing eyes,uniquely-sculpted tiny button-shaped nose,wide cheek bones,tiny pursed
lips,five piece composition body. The doll is wearing her original patterned cotton dress and
bonnet,shoes and socks,replaced panties. Marks: Effanbee. Excellent overall,small craze line at
mouth. Effanbee,their model marketed as "This is Butin-Nose",the model appears only to have
been made in the 8"size,and has wonderful character-like expression,circa 1935.

brows,closed mouth with bow-shaped lips,light brown human hair wig in originally arranged-
coiffure,five piece composition body. The doll is wearing her original flower girl costume from
Wedding Party,comprising sheer nylon dress over nylon under-dress,with ruffled lace tiers and
pouf sleeves,matching long pantalets,matching bonnet,shoes,socks,and carrying bouquet of
flowers that match flowers in her bonnet. Marks: Effanbee Anne Shirley. Excellent condition,one

hair in bobbed fashion,painted brown side-glancing eyes,closed mouth,jointed arms and legs.
The doll is wearing an original yellow gown with an additional red cotton gown,and has leis and
bracelets. Excellent condition. Marks: Effanbee Patsyette Doll. The dolls were commissioned
from Effanbee by Hawaiian sources such Liberty House where they were costumed as Hawaiian
royalty and sold as luxury memorabilia. Circa 1935.

Charlie McCarthy was part of the regular radio program first aired in 1937 and continuing for
