17"(43 cm.) Composition shoulder head with felt-like finish,painted blue eyes,thick black
eyeliner,dark eye shadow,curly lashes,single stroke brows,closed mouth with row of painted
teeth,blonde mohair wig,cloth torso,composition arms and legs. The doll is wearing her
original costume,comprising organdy dress over yellow cotton slip and panties,orange and
yellow felt collar and flower appliques,large orange felt cap,yellow socks,black shoes with
yellow felt floral buckles. Around her neck,the doll wears a copper medallion that is inscribed
"Madame Hendron,Everybody loves them"on one side,and "Good Luck"on the other. The
costume also bears the Madame Hendron cloth label. Georgene Averill,the doll was advertised
in 1929 as "head with felt finish",named "Val Encia",available in orange or blue,and was a clear
attempt to gather the blossoming market for Lenci dolls. Excellent condition,slight surface
dust.

brows,slightly-parted lips,row of upper teeth,brunette human hair wig with bangs,five-piece
composition body. The doll is wearing her original red and white checkered pinafore dress over
white cotton one-piece romper suit,brown sandals. Excellent condition with very light surface
lines on face. Marks: Effanbee Anne Shirley. Effanbee,from the "American Children"series
designed by Dewees Cochran and introduced in 1937 at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York,the doll
is wearing her original gold heart label bracelet.

The doll is wearing her original lavender best dress with lace trim and feather-stitching,and straw bonnet with flower trim,socks and black suede-like shoes (undergarment may not be original). The doll is shown on page 40 of Treasury of Madame Alexander Dolls. Excellent condition,light costume fading. Marks: Madame Alexander New York (cloth tag on costume). 13"(33 cm.) Each is all-cloth with pressed and printed facial features depicting classic figures from DisneyÍs Snow White film,and having original felt flannel costumes and plush white beards. Each face is uniquely shaped and distinctive and amusing facial features to suit the personality depicted. Included are Doc,Sneezy,and Sleepy,each with original paper label having a colorful image of Snow White and Seven Dwarfs on one side and note on the other side "One of Walt DisneyÍs Whistling Dwarfs,Dance us up and down,we whistle while we work". The note refers to the bellows construction of legs which should offer a whistle when squeezed up and down. Excellent unplayed with condition,bright fresh colors,original labels,whistles not-so-much. Ideal,circa 1939.

Knickerbocker,circa 1937,the set was issued to coincide with the premiere of DisneyÍs first animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
