302 . A French Doll's Schoolroom with Nine Bisque Dolls and Furnishings from Exhibition at the Famed Musee de la Poupee in Paris
14" (36 cm.) Bisque socket head with distinctive elongated facial modeling, bright blue glass paperweight inset eyes, rose-blushed eyeshadow, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, heart-shaped upper lip, dimples in philtrum and chin, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body, wearing lovely antique aqua silk dress and woven bonnet, undergarments, and tan leather shoes incised with full figure of doll. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F.R. 5. Comments: Falck-Roussel, circa 1885, who registered his Bebe Mignon in that year, only one model was made by that dollmaker with a distinctive facial model. Value Points: especially beautiful doll with very choice bisque and expression.
