Bisque socket head with dark sienna complexion, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, dark painted lashes, black brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette human hair over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed lady body with shapely torso. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 8 (and artist check marks on head). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1888. Value Points: rare model with rich complexion to represent Spanish lady, rare adult female body, wearing original Spanish style silk costume of coral silk with black lace overlay decorated with rhinestone beads, black velvet vest, black chenille snood, undergarments, stockings, signed Jumeau shoes; few examples of this character doll are known to exist.
