Rare German Bisque Lady Doll with Reversible Faces

18" (46 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, brown sculpted hair drawn smoothly from each face in a duplicate manner, with two faces that can be alternately revealed by swiveling the head; one face has cobalt blue glass eyes, and the other has eyes modeled shut. Each has painted lashes and brows, closed mouth, pierced ears (which back up to each side), and she has a muslin stitch-jointed body with leather arms, fine antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1870. Value Points: very rare double-face model with awake/asleep visages, and having rare brown sculpted hair.
