7" (18 cm.) Seated upon a paper mache egg is a porcelain half-doll depicting Pierrette with three brown spit curls beneath black cap, her arms extended and holding a brown and tan porcelain mandolin. She is attached to the lid of the egg-shaped candy container with silk and plush cover (which separates at the center for access to the candy), and has original ruffled neck collar and pleated flared skirt, with porcelain legs bent at the knees, gold shoes. Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1920, for the French market.
