Rare Porcelain Half-Doll "Lady with Gilt Cap" by Herend

6 1/2" (17 cm.) Hip-up porcelain half-doll portraying a lady with her right arm uplifted as though in greeting, and her left hand held behind her head, the lady has brown sculpted hair captured under a gold cap, sculpted green shawl with painted delicate flowers, peasant style blouse and lace bodice, and a blue skirt overlaid with a flower-decorated apron. There are sew holes at the skirt/apron base indicating its purpose to be attached to pincushion base. Marks: Herend Hungary (and logo blue stamp). Excellent condition. Hungary, circa 1910, the firm, specializing in luxury porcelain goods, had been founded in 1826, and enjoys an illustrious history.
