Rose Silk Dress with Scalloped Lace Collar and Lavish Silk Bonnet

4" shoulder width. 13" waist. 15" overall length. A lustrous rose silk satin forms a dress whose fitted yoke has one center pleat; flat-front skirt with flared sides and very full gathers at the back; and sleeves that are very full at the shoulders and become narrower below the elbow. The dress is trimmed with an exuberant cloverleaf collar of tulle over rose silk,with soutache embroidery,and there is silk ribbon applique on the skirt and sleeves,and a wide ivory silk sash. An ivory silk bonnet has two lavishly-gathered silk ruffles with lace edging,and is trimmed with ivory silk ribbons and bows. Circa 1890.
