11" (28 cm.) Bisque shoulder head of adult lady with heart-shaped face, elongated throat, blonde sculpted hair waved from face, with very full poufed wings, widow's peak and braided trim, firm torso which forms into a cone-shaped skirt and encloses a clockwork mechanism, brass feet, wearing antique silk and tulle costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 10 H (shoulders) Patented July 15th, 1862, also in Europe 20 Dec 1862 (skirt). Comments: Autoperipatetikos from the patent designs of Enoch Rich Morrison, circa 1865, marketed by Martin & Runyon; when wound the doll "walks" by alternately lifting each foot. Value Points: well-preserved rare early American mechanical doll with rare bisque head for this model.

Standing upon a tinplate base with three spoked wheels is a lady with paper mache swivel head, black enamel eyes, painted lashes and brows, open mouth, two upper and two lower square cut teeth, blonde mohair wig with elaborate original coiffure, paper mache body with modeled bosom and waist, bisque hands. Condition: generally excellent, very light craquelure on forehead. Marks: Vichy a Paris. Comments: Vichy, Paris, circa 1850. Value Points: when wound, the elegant lady glides forward and circles while turning her head and lifting arms alternately; especially beautiful coiffure and original costume.

16" (41 cm.) The wooden vitrine cabinet with bowed-front and sides has double-door cabinets at the base, and glass-windows above with mirrored back and glass shelves; the cabinet has fine painted finish with decorative painted scenes of birds and flowers framed by scrolled garlands, and is accented by bronzed gilt mounts and drawer pulls. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, maitrise model of the 18th century cabinet mid-1900s. Value Points: very fine diminutive furnishing, with artistic painting of decorations, perfectly preserved.

Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1870. Value Points: the rare and dainty lady with fancily-sculpted hair is wearing her original costume, and was presented in The Englishwoman's Magazine of that time as an exclusive design named "The Work-Table Companion", the costume decorated with a pin-cushion coiffe, pockets with packets of needles, silk reticule enclosing a thimble, and sash pocket with scissors. 12" (30 cm.) l. 6"h. In the shape of a spinet piano, with decorative inlay finish in checkerboard pattern and inlay design of keys. The lid of the piano hinges open to reveal mirror on the interior lid, and a wellfitted velvet-lined base containing number of elaborate silver and pearl accessories including needlecase, scissors, awl, knife, thimble and thread winders. Very good/excellent condition, one small crack at base of mirror. French, mid-1800s.
