Each has carved wooden head with well defined sculpted features,painted brows,eyes,nostrils and lips,sculpted and painted hair,the Bride with carved chignon decorated with combs and tassels and having stippled detailing of bangs,muslin bodies,wooden hands. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Door of Hope,Shanghai,circa 1930,represented are Bride and Groom,each in elaborately detailed traditional silk wedding costumes indicating their high social rank. Value Points: outstanding state of preservation with brilliant silk colors,elaborate embroidery,extraordinary detail of bride's headdress and hair carving.
