12" (30 cm.) A wooden cart or wheel-barrow with fancifully-shaped frame and wheel is decorated with colorful painted and silk-applique scenes of flowers and a Japanese woman, with burgundy silk borders. The top of the cart has a curved cover which when opened reveals a silk-lined interior, and was likely designed as a candy box or gift presentation. The cart has the original shop label of S. Jacomet of Poitiers on the underside. Excellent condition. French, circa 1875, a rare ephemera object, attributed to Badeuille who also made dollhouse furnishings and doll accessories.
