14" (36 cm.) Porcelain shoulderhead of slender-faced lady with elongated throat, blonde sculpted hair waved from face and forming into long finger curls at the back of head, sculpted gilt crown enhanced with faux-emeralds and rubies, pierced ears, painted blue downcast eyes, closed mouth, sculpted gilt necklace, cloth body, porcelain arms and legs, gold painted shoes, sculpted bracelets. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: MDT 54. Comments: Martha Thompson, 1954 from her portrait series of 19th century royalty; another example of the model was offered without the crown. Value Points: rare model with wonderful modeling of crown, necklace and bracelets, wearing original couturier gown by Martha Yeske who was a close fellow collector of Martha Thompson. The doll was acquired by its present owner nearly 60 years ago from Mrs. Yeske and has remained in her possession until now.
