Thick pressed porcelain shoulderhead turned to the left, sculpted long brown thick ringlet curls waved behind her sculpted ears and tumbling onto her shoulders, below a fitted cap with blue crown, green band with black rim and ornament, painted blue eyes, red and black upper eyeliner, single-stroke brown brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with full lips, muslin stitch-jointed body, leather arms, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: maker uncertain, mid-1800s. Value Points: rarity factors of the doll, of which few examples are known to exist, include brown hair color, unique cap, and unusual hand-pressed porcelain texture.
