Very Rare Variation Cloth Clown "Clara-belle" from Posey Pets Series

19" (48 cm.) White linen-like cloth face with three vertical seams, large stitched-on felt ears, black shoe-button eyes with aqua, blue and pink accents, pink pom-pom nose, purple looped-yarn hair, muslin body with stitch-jointing at shoulders and hips, stitched-on green velvet shoes. He is wearing original yellow and green satin clown costume with felt applique flower petals and double ruffled collar. The costume has original cloth tag "Clara-belle Clown/c. Madame Alexander, New York". Near mint condition. Madame Alexander, 1951, from the firm's Posey Pets series inspired by the Howdy Doody TV show. The doll is a blended variation of the regular clowns and the distinctive Clarabell face clown.
